New S2000

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-a6776301.html

After hours upon hours playing Gran Turismo through my teenage years, the S2000 and Mazda RX7 hold a very close place to my heart (along with the E46 M3 CSL).

This new car looks incredible. I'm still a few years away from justifying a weekend car by which point the old S2000's may be hard to come by - I'd absolutely jump in one of these!

What do people think of this? Sticking to Z4's?

It's a bit civic type r in its styling, boy racer sports car look?

The s2000 was quite classy in its day I thought, looks a bit chavvy now.

Yeh this is the Type R variant, expect the standard will a bit more sensibly styled (at least I'd hope so).

Looks good although I would find it hard to see past the current Boxster S depending on the price point of the Honda.

As long as you can have all the bang of the r with none if the styling then that would be my preference

Looks nice to me. Unlike the type r which I seen the other day. Hideous and only 5.7 to 60 a 328i may beat it in a straight line, how things have moved on. In that it's all mouth and no trousers IMO

Yeh, the new Type R is whole other level of cartoonish styling - looks like one of those oversized sketches. Revolting!

The new NSX looks OK but reviews have been average. I like the move back to some performance models. Need some competition in the punchy saloon space!

When anyone says 'S2000" I can't shake the scream of the original motor in that last thousand revs out of my head.

Ripper!

Especially if the air box lid was removed or induction kit fitted, it sounded mental!

Always going to be restricted in the 0-62 dash being FWD and manual, but it is quick 12.5 to 100, about 7 secs 60-100 . The 0-100 time is about 2 secs quicker than the 328i. So rolling performance would be very punchy. But agree looks absolute shite!

I've had 2 S2000's on my first I had a K&N FIPK

On my second I just removed the airbox lid, the K&N sounded so much better and much less heatsoak.

Awesome engine.

Totally agree, on its own removing the air box lid sounded great but the heat soak was a big problem, still sounded good tho! But you couldn't beat a proper induction kit developed for it. Man it was such a great 2 seater, a proper sports car compared to the gay mx5 (still a great handling car but not enough power and too girly styling)

I'm still tempted with a 3rd.

Wiki and article both say RWD. Meant to be a right handful when you lift the throttle at speed! Sure one of the ex-owners can elaborate.
