Oil in throttle body - do I need to be worried?
So, I bought a 2006 320D with M47tu2 engine about a month ago. When I removed the pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body I noticed there was some oil there. The turbo was changed about 20 000 miles ago.
Is this something I need to be worried about, or is it normal? What could be the cause? I don't think the EGR valve looks too bad, but I cleaned the EGR and inlet manifold as well as changed the crankcase breather and air filter at the same time. Thanks in advance. |

This could be from the old turbo (if they didn't clean it up while replacing it).
I'd clean it up real good and drive a few miles and recheck. If there's still oil in there, the turbo is shot. |
