Need help

Guys first of all happy new year in advance...

Today i went to drop my friend to the local dealership to pick his car after service and met the usual sales contact. He showed me a F30 330d Luxury pre-registered with 11 miles on the clock with the following config.

Imperial Blue Xirallic with Oyster Interior
Rear and folding head restraints.
Split-folding rear seats.
BMW Online services.
BMW Professional navigation system.
Front sport seats.
Extended storage.
Anthracite headlining.
Sun protection glass.
Heated front seats.
Full black panel display.
LED headlights.
Automatic dimming exterior folding mirrors.
High beam assistant.
Electric front seats with driver memory.
Reversing assist camera.
Front LED foglights.

List is coming to £42915 when i checked(BMW configurator is showing the old price i guess as LED lights are standard now).

They are ready to do a deal as they need to move this car.
Couple of doubts am having are
a) From the reg and getting the VIN am finding the car has been manufactured on 02-Jul-2015. But registered on 30-Oct-2015. So in the V5C also the manufacturing date will be 02-Jul? and also the warranty starts from 30-October?

b) Straight away offer was if am trading in my 318d Msport with msport plus pack then £1500 of negative equity will be covered which they checked and is standing at £2935.87 and service pack. But he needs to check with his manager whether he can do any further discount in the price of £30250(screen price) and also can match the new car APR of 5.9%.

Is it fair for me to push for covering the full negative equity and service pack and the price of the car remains the same?

Thanks in Advance

Looks like a good deal. But push them hard, this isn't a good time for car sales!

You'd be surprised. Everyone thinks this and then goes to buy a car because they think dealers are struggling this time of year.

It worked for me a couple of years ago at Mercedes. But maybe I was just right place at the right time!

Just remember the old adage' it is easy to buy but harder to sell'.

Go in tell them what you want and dangle the carrot that you will sign today, if the deal you offer them is realistic most of the time it has worked for me.

I think many dealers are reluctant to play the 'backwards and forwards' game but if you lay your cards on the table you may get lucky.

Good luck

Registration and warranty start from the day it was registered, which will be October. That is what the V5C will show.

However, with that build date, check it is an LCI (facelift) car as that's about the changeover between non-LCI and LCI. LCI brought is a few cosmetic changes, but several under the skin changes too around the suspension and steering. The VIN decoder at www.etk.cc will tell you exactly what it is.

Deal sounds good but like said, ask for more & see how far they will go for a signature on the day.

Good luck

Agreed. There will be plenty of other deals. It's a buyers market.

Don't be too hung up on the negative equity in yours either OP. All dealers will do something for you and work it into the deal or cover it for you.

Remember - keep pushing them and be prepared to walk away unless you are 110% happy.

Yes am thinking in the same line and sainsbury's loans are making more sense than BMW APRs But have been told that there is a financial contribution from the BMW FS if its the BMW PCP. We were not desperate for the change but we really liked the car. We spoke about the same on 31st and the car was registered on 31-Oct-2015 and the 60 days time gaps has ran out for it to have the new car APR hence the problem for them...in a way that helped us to walk away when the APR was quoted high when we went on saturday..something should work out hopefully...

Forgot to Add, the car was manufactured on 02-Jul-2015 as the first lot dealer stock vehicle but not registered until 31-Oct. When we check based on the VIN in BMWVIN we will be able to see a code called
999 ORDER CONTROL FIRST DEALER CARS

Way round that would be to take the BMWFS package and keep it for a couple of months then organise your own loan via sainsburys and pay off the BMWFS loan that way and get the best of both.

Not trying to push you into it btw merely options springing to mind

Another option:

Try Capital Car Finance Get a quoat there and then you can present it to the dealer (down a 6% or even lower).

They must think they have you over a barrel with the negative equity.
