I don't know if I am wording this correctly but here goes. I live on the south shore (Mass) and drive along Quincy Ave. I have the RFT's and Quincy Ave. has a lot of patches on the road where the Walmart is located. Hopefully someone knows this road so they will know what I am talking about. Anyway, the car veers with every ripple/patch that is on that road. I need to keep a firm hand on the steering wheel otherwise the car will change lanes on me. Does this happen because of the RFT's or wide tires? Combination of both? I talked to the service rep @BMW about this and he said it was because of the wide tires, that all wide tires do this. When I am on a smooth road it drives perfectly straight, bumpy/patchy roads it veers badly. My car is a 2011 328 xdrive with the M Sport Package. My wife's RAV 4 which does not have wide or RFT's does not veer at all. I hate the way I have to fight the way it steers. Will non RFT's help?

Look up the term tramlining

I had oem run flats on the car and they were horrible. Change them out to non run flats and you will experience less of this

Thank you guys. I knew I wasn't crazy-Tramlining. That is it exactly. Now to look for some non RFT's. The ones I have Bridgestone Potenza have about 2,000 miles on them. Dealership put new ones on when I got the car. I am looking at Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 for the new ones. Thanks again.

What size are they?
I'd be interested in purchasing the Potenza's if we can work out a price.
