Kitchen Appliances - Miele

We're having our kitchen done in the new year and I need to source somewhere that does Miele appliances - anyone work for Miele or a kitchen appliance company?

I'm after a fair bit, the kitchen company quoted us but it's silly money for what I've seen some bits advertised online.

Any recommendations for places would be much appreciated too

If you opt for Miele make sure you understand the warranty registration process.

Miele admitted that it wasn't clear but still refused to honour the 10 year guarantee when our, very expensive, washing machine needed work. On the basis of principle I won't buy that brand again.

Any pointers on registering? I know the majority of the stuff only gets 2 years with only the dishwasher getting 5. Which is pretty poor for the price of the stuff.

John Lewis are very good for stocking decent stuff.

We get pretty much everything from their, good warranty and exchange policy.

I have looked at John Lewis but the issue was they only stocked some of the ovens and none of the other stuff. Plus they are the same price as the kitchen place.

Are you anywhere near Abingdon oxon? Miele have a sales room there where new and used stock is sold at massive reductions - we got most of our kitchen kitten out there.

I did understand the warranty registration process and managed to register the included 10 year warranties on my washing machine and dryer. I tried to buy a 10 year extended warranty on my dishwasher and they kept getting it wrong, quoting me too low a price and then sending a warranty out for a 'washing machine'. I tried to sort this out many times but got fed up and got a refund instead, as they kept getting it wrong. The warranty company is subcontracted.

Much like BMW's there's a huge difference between the list price and the real world price.

Recently bought a fridge freezer from the Miele shop in Harrogate. When I mentioned the model and that I had been looking at it on the John Lewis website the Miele guy instantly offered to beat the JL price before he'd even looked up what JL were selling it for.

We bought our Miele built in Fridge/Freezer with a decent discount, retail was circa £1,800 and I managed to buy it fitted and disposal of our old one for £1,350.

It was the LED lights built into the shelves which swung it for me on the model we chose
