Ordered 2016 XLINE sDrive18d - Australia
Hi Guys,
Quick overview Used to be VW/Audi fan, but had issues so decided to buy 1 series back in May instead of my Audi. Been really happy with it thus far, so decided it was time to trade the Tiguan and get the new X1 as well. Put a deposit down on one of the first s18d's coming in this December. I have been tracking it since it leaving Durban and now its saying discharged at Brisbane. Hoping it should arrive in the next week or so :-) Anyone have an idea of how long it takes once it has been discharged at port? Will post pics. Cheers kroogz |

Talk to your salesperson who should be able to give you a more accurate timeline. Based on our X3 it usually takes a day or three to clear Customs, have its Australian compliance plate fitted and delivered to the dealer. From there, it takes another couple of days for the dealer to prep your car and fit any dealer options or treatments.

Congrats! I have the sdrive18d as well. In my case, it took one week from the docking date to get to dealer, and then dealer took 2-3 days to get rego tinting and detailing. So 1.5 wk all up

Hey, congrats on getting your car so soon! Still 2 months at least for mine to come. I like the wheels on yours, first time I've seen that style of 18" on an X1 in Oz.
Give us your feedback on your new car when you've had a chance to take it on a longer drive Haven't read much on the 18d as not even the media have driven it here so far. |

Hi All,
Quick update. Car is going very well, road noise is not as loud as I expected from the reviews and seems to be getting quieter as the tires wear in. Great fuel economy compared to the Tiguan. 680k's from 45L fill. This was a mix of highway and city driving. I have also been able to get all the ECU config files from the car, so I did some research and offline coding of the modules. Seems as though a lot of the modules are combined in the F48, unlike other previous models. The function names are the same though, so all I had to do was search through each modules available functions / settings. First code I will be writing to the main ECU is for the start / stop to remember last setting. Will provide an update on how it all goes tomorrow. Cheers kroogz |

Thanks for the update kroogz!
What do you use to access the ECU config files? Would be very keen to hear what you can modify with that, I'm sure there are a few parameters I would like to customise too! Cheers. |

Looks great.
Nice to see the wheels in "real" on the X1. I will get the same (566) , but the car (Xline trim) will be in mineralgrau. Have to wait till delivery suspected WK7. Regards, Marcel |

mynewx1 - I used an ENET cable. Successfully coded the car to remember last setting for Start/Stop and a digital speed display with BC.
Marcel - congrats ! The wheels do look a lot better in the flesh. |
