4,500bhp Devel Sixteen Hypercar!
I remember Jeremy Clarkson saying the Veyron was a concorde moment, basically that there'll never be a faster Hypercar, well how wrong he could turn out to be!
It looks like the Devel Sixteen with 3,000bhp on normal fuel, but 4,500bhp on race fuel, is possibly going to happen! http://www.topgear.com/car-news/supe...ne-go-mad-dyno Who thinks their claims will be possible? |

Pointless in my view.
By the time they gave it in a car a hybrid will have beaten those times without needing a fuel bowser. Ok, max velocity might not be there but that's pointless too, where Can you drive that fast on anything other than a race track (and then probably only salt flats).

At those powers, forces and weight of components, it starts to become very impractical.
So yeah the engine can develop that, however what would the AUW of the actual car. Could you drive it about, well if you can get an HGV through, this would as well. Would sooner have the Hennessy Viper |

I remember thinking this was a load of bs when i saw pics of the first prototype car last year, it looked like it was made of card board. The latest version is looking a little more like a vehicle that could go into production, and im all for keeping big displacement alive!

Definitely possible as Red Victor 3 is already making over 3000hp at under 9 litres and is street driveable on pump fuel. And it actually exists
http://www.topspeed.com/cars/vauxhal...-ar130706.html 365hp per litre is pretty tame in the drag racing world. The problem, I suspect, with this car will be tyres. |
