M235i DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION

Hi everyone please help me!

I got an error message on my dash telling me the drivetrain has malfunctioned. Right after this showed up I noticed the turbo wasn't sounding, and I figured the turbo was off, not working because the car felt really sluggish, it felt like I was driving a normal car. I immediately parked this in the driveway for a whole week without touching it.

The mechanic said the turbo is off because the car goes into a "safe-mode" when the drivetrain has malfunctioned.

I got these error codes at non-dealership garage.
He said the problems occurred at

15,243km error codes; 120408 and 131501
Then at 15,265km error code; 102001

Does the car need to be brought in to be worked on? If so, what work needs to be done?
THANKS!!!

See this thread. You're not the only one to get this message recently.

Short answer: get it to a dealer. I'm no mechanic and my experience with fault codes is limited, but those signify a definite intake regulation issue -- and if it's affecting VANOS, it's a serious one.
