M235i DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION
Hi everyone please help me!
I got an error message on my dash telling me the drivetrain has malfunctioned. Right after this showed up I noticed the turbo wasn't sounding, and I figured the turbo was off, not working because the car felt really sluggish, it felt like I was driving a normal car. I immediately parked this in the driveway for a whole week without touching it. The mechanic said the turbo is off because the car goes into a "safe-mode" when the drivetrain has malfunctioned. I got these error codes at non-dealership garage. He said the problems occurred at 15,243km error codes; 120408 and 131501 Then at 15,265km error code; 102001 Does the car need to be brought in to be worked on? If so, what work needs to be done? THANKS!!! |

Short answer: get it to a dealer. I'm no mechanic and my experience with fault codes is limited, but those signify a definite intake regulation issue -- and if it's affecting VANOS, it's a serious one.
