Burgled!!!
Yet another bloody burglary, not the house or cars but our stables.
All our tack and the trailer also stolen. Smashed through two gates, smashed a (false) CCTV camera off the wall and also a tack room door! When will these pikey fucking arseholes stop?!?! Rant over...now a day of insurance companies and crime numbers

No the tack room is probably one of the most secure we've had, they've used professional cutters to get through locks and chains they really weren't messing around.
Horses are all safe that's the main thing, I just swear to god this time of year is just rich for burglaries, and there is nothing that you can do a lot of the time, police won't even send anyone out as there is no point, just sad when a pikey can take something and completely get away with it.

Most of my friends now use a saddle safe, similar to my gun safe.
Couple of decent makes out there and they are pretty secure. http://www.shotgun-cabinet.co.uk/col...s/saddle-safes http://www.equinesecurity.co.uk/tackguard.php Worth looking at, as these scum often target same place in a few months time. They know at this time of year that tack rooms, stables have plenty kit in them. |

Cheers mate, Ill have a look as the last thing i want is to replace it all then have it stolen again! It happened about 6:30pm last night, about an hour after my mum and friend got back from a show....so police think they were followed. Somehow I feel that makes it worse! Andy

They also hit a few garages around where I lived. Stole my neighbours new wheelbarrow, but left the cases of beer he had on shelf above it. Fucking Mormon Pikey bastards. Yeah Tack Safes are worth it as an investment, also I believe you can get a discount on insurance if you have one. Also if you happen to catch the twats in the act and they have an accident, it's your fault. |

The scum will indeed probably give you a few months to get everything replaced and then come back. All you can do is delay them or persuade them to move to an easier target.
Anything with padlocks they can get through. If the stable block is solid enough construction then consider a multipoint locking steel door. Maybe with a sign claiming all contents are covered by a smart water system (although the little shtis probably won't be able to read it) Cetainly look at IP based CCTV with motion detection that can notify you of activity. If you haven't got connectivity to the house then look at powerline if the mains comes from the house system, directional antenna if you've got line of sight, or a separate 3G based system. If you're not techy that might sound a bit daunting but it's not and a basic version could be done for a few hundred pounds. With a bit of ingenuity you could set up a battery based notification system if one of the gates was opened. Shame electrocution isn't allowed....

Ill have a look at them, there has been a couple of yards cleared out the last few weeks, we have had about 5 saddles/bridles taken and the trailer, but riding school nearby had 20 plus taken. Because we think they followed us to the stables last night we are trying to get at CCTV footage from nearby places etc so a bit of leg work but maybe we will catch someone suspicious, probably with a white vest on, ginger, white transit open back with 48 kids in the back... I wonder if you can pick up accents on CCTV?!! Cheers mate, Andy

Have a browse round broadbandbuyer.co.uk and networkwebcams for a few ideas. Couple of points as they come to mind: 1) Look at POE cams so you don't need to run power cables and you're hardwired (always better) rather than wireless. 2) Nothing less than 720P. I reckon 1080P for decent stills. 3) The claimed Infra red ranges on the cameras are always optimistic so look for somewhere to sight a decent IR light. You can have a laugh or roll eyes at this Heath Robinson one if you like: It always best to put them off as early as possible so if access is only really via the gates then on the first one put a suitably imposing metal box on a bit of concrete with a decent screen printed warning sign and just shove a large battery in it with a bright red LED! If it looks the part it may be more effective than dummy cameras that they can spot a mile away!

If the police think they were being followed back from the show, are there any ANPR camera on the route back?
If there are then the police can search them and see what cars were on the same route at the same time, may help to narrow down the search. There was also a similar thing happened near Newbury not long ago, stole all the saddles but also set fire to a vehicle and stables with horses inside. V bad thing to happen. |

No. Too good for them.
Put them to good use - Crash test dummies, parachute testers and as replacements for white mice.

Our house was burgled exactly a year ago, they took everything we had of value all the TV's, iPads, phones, laptops....they took the spare key to the 3 series that was in the side which was an absolute pain in the arse to sort
The thing that upset me the most was my TAG watch that I'd treated myself to a few years before To make matters worse, when we bought the house it was a renovation and back in 2005 I'd only taken out a buildings policy no contents, you guessed it we thought we were insured but weren't. I learnt a valuable lesson that day. Scumbags, our low lives were even caught on next doors CCTV, watching it made me feel worse TBH, feel for the OP and anybody else that goes through it. We replaced everything, it cost a fortune |
