Missing bits
I may be completely misinterprating your post so appolgies if off topic...however... I noticed the other day my X1 (fitted with Sport seats option ) does not have any storage bins underneath them ... The UK brochure shows electronic sports seats with storage bins however, mine are manual seats. It does look like there is a mounting point for some sort of bin,
I think the "bar" for manual front/back adjustment might prevent a bin opening so BMW dont fit them ? I thought of checking with the dealer however....... I am not aware of any other bins in the vehicle so will watch your post with interest, |

As I am studying brochures and price lists ready to go and place our our order on Friday I notice that option 493 extended storage is standard spec on UK cars and also noted it is shown on the list I got from the vin checker for the X1 loan car we are currently using.
Not sure what's included in the pack, but the car does have nets on the seat backs and a cubbyhole on the right of the steering wheel. The loan car has manual sport seats and does not have under seat storage compartments although it is a very early dealer launch car.

Extended Storage
I puzzled over that Washy... I saw the extended storage bit and cannot work out what "reduced storage" or "standard storage" would be ! guess it is a marketing thing.
There are no real compartments or such like, that I can find ....no MPV type underfloor cubby holes, under seat storage etc.. BTW I'm not complaining - just commenting. I suppose extended storage could be a euphamism for " you've got no spare wheel, just an extra void" Mine was also a dealer launch car so maybe........ Still very happy with it ! Is 493 a reference to the under-floor storage in the trunk / boot? Whatever 493 is, I don't have it listed in my Vehicle Inquiry Report. FWIW, mine won't have the under-floor storage since I ordered it with the spare tire package, option code 300. Cannot stand run flat tires.

From the BMW UK web site the contents of the extended storage pack are listed as:
Extended storage Folding storage compartment, below headlight switch, driver’s side Storage compartment below drivers and passengers seat (deleted with Sport seats) Seat backrest back, driver / front passenger, with luggage net, in each case in global colour Centre armrest in 20%-part rear seat backrest, folding. Including 2 cupholders and 1 storage compartment Lock for glovebox lid So if you have sport seats you don't get the under seat compartments.

Ok, looks like I spoke too soon. My Vehicle Inquiry Report from the dealer does NOT list 493. However, when I looked up my VIN on www.bimmer.work it does list "493 Storage Compartment Package / Ablagenpaket". So I guess I have it. FWIW, it's an M Sport with (obviously) Sport Seats.
Build date was 2015-11-28. Welt delivery next week, woot! |

BMW X1 2016 missing standard equipments Canada
I didn't realized the package was missing until month and a half after I took delivery of the car. I've been dealing with the dealership since March...Not only the cup holder/arm rest and under seat storage are missing, the front seats back pockets, power outlet at both at the back of the centre console and right hand side of the trunk, trunk scuff plate (aluminum), straps and net on both left and right side of the trunk...all these are missing in my car.
The dealership told me they've been dealing with BMW Canada and came to the resolution that they were going reinstalling all the missing components in my car. So I took my car in last Thursday (August 25) for repair. I haven't heard anything back from them so I called today and bam...they said all the parts they thought they could install back into my car isn't going to just go in the car at the way they thought. For the fifteen million time again they told me they are talking back and forth with BMW Canada to see what they can do next... This is extremely disappointing of how BMW dealing with the mistakes they made. It is very obvious that they are not putting their customer at a high priority. Right now I am in process of planning to proceed legal action against the dealership/BMW Canada. I think I have given enough time (Since March) for them to address this issue and up to today my car is still sitting in the dealership non-repaired. For those of you people out there who has the same issue as me, please message me. We need enough complainants to start a class action lawsuit. |
