LED Fogs / Reverse Malfunction Even After Coding

It seems we're having an issue coding my F10 to play nice with LED H8 fog lights and LED 921 reverse lights. I just sent back the last "CanBus friendly error-free" fogs and will be upgrading to a brighter set with a separate error-free load resistor adapter. I'm not sure if that's going to work with the coding done to the fogs already, I can't put an in-line adapter in place for the reverse lights due to their mounting location, and I don't know what the codes were that were meant for the fog lights, but the reverse lights are also showing a malfunction on the dash.

Can anyone who has successfully installed aftermarket fogs and reverse lights tell me what the proper code is to stop cold and warm checks through CanBus? I had a code I thought would work but it was for an F30. I'm not the coder nor do I have any input when it comes to this, but if I can find the correct code necessary for those who have used non "CanBus friendly error-free" bulbs and got them to code-out without showing any malfunctions, I can provide that to the shop doing the coding for me.

Thanks in advance! Lots more coding questions incoming but will ask those separately after searching to see if the answers are already here - tried that with this but couldn't find any solid answers....

Not sure about LED fog lights, but I know that there are error free reverse lights out there

The ones I purchased were advertised as "CanBus Error Free," still showing an error. I got the fog lights straightened out either through coding, buying a different set of bulbs, or a combination of the two, but I still can't get the error to go away for the reverse lights.

I bought resistors for the fogs but they haven't even arrived yet! They worked without them, and I can't put in resistors for reverse lights with the limited room and mounting location of the bulbs in the harness, so I guess I have to keep trying to find true "error free" reverse lights until I find one that actually works....

Ahh I see, just to confirm...is the error thrown up on the dash? because the reverse lights I have give me no errors? unless I am missing the errors somehow?

Yes, the orange triangle on the bottom left of the cluster and then under Vehicle Info on the Nav screen shows the error.

Okay, well if your front fogs are now fine, you could try buying the reverse lights I have? They work fine for me, not sure if I'm allowed to post eBay links here?

For the front fog lamp I would suggest;

Quite expensive, original from BMW, around $180 each.
It required a coding at module FRM3090. Compare to bulb retrofit, it is not only beautiful but also actually works with proper light pattern.

You can PM me if you think that would be better

Damn.... I was interested in those but read somewhere they were way more expensive than that, so I gave up looking into part numbers! That's much better than what I thought they were. I'll get those after I put in more go-fast parts in a few months, thanks for the suggestion!

ebay Item: 172080831553

for fogs I bought a kit with resistors included. eBay item number:172032326882

these are 7.5W is not a bright white... if you can find 35W are better.

This worked for me when coding my reverse LEDs. No resistors necessary.

Relatedly, I have an F10 M Sport pre-LCI and I've read that the fog lights take H11 bulbs. 2 questions:
  1. Does anyone have a link to bulbs they bought and liked? and
  2. Does anyone know what needs to be coded for the LED fogs?
I want to match the color as closely as possible to my xenon headlights and DRLs, and really don't want the bulbs looking blue. For the coding, I'm just looking for something like the above-quoted information. Thanks.

PreLCI MSPort Fogs, H11 35W HID Works with capacitors, no coding needed
PreLCI Reverse Bulbs, I Used Generic R5 LED, no thing else, no coding needed

LCI Msport Fogs, ditching the LED oem set and going HID/projector soon, LED ones are for sale.
LCI Reverse Bulbs, H21W(socket Bay9S), or change the socket over to whatever you want, T10/T20 etc. Installed with 6ohm 50W resistors on each, no error, no coding required. I believe the same applies to PY24W front signals on LCI models.

PS H8 & H11 are basically interchangeable.

How did you manage to install the reverse bulbs without capacitors or coding? I got a bulb out warning when I installed them and wanted to check if they were "error free."

I wish I could afford an LCI F10 with all the options I want. Then I'd have the right fog lights (and adaptive LED headlights).

I bought the exact same bulbs for my reverse bulbs! Mine threw bulb out warnings though, so I coded the reverse bulbs.

Do you have a link to the fog light bulbs you bought?

Any generic 35W HID would work, just need to do this:
