MTX in an E91

http://www.mtxaudio.eu/news/item/mtx...-now-available

Anyone ever fitted this kit? I'm considering it as it seems reasonable for the price. Don't want to go mad, just want to improve the sound quality and give it a bit more punch. Only have the basic 6 speaker professional kit fitted at the moment. Also have a parrot asteroid mini wired in. Not looking to fit an amp, maybe later but the parrot may cause issues with this!

Not famlier with these but they say it needs amp

Not famlier with these but they say it needs amp.
Most of the three way kits need aftermarket amp power.
Jehnerts and Gladens are the noted quality three way kits.
You need to identify which system you have more accurately .
It has nothing to do with the Head Unit or Idrive mostly.
If you want more punch it needs more power by definition.

BMW E91 2006 with professional head unit and 6 speaker system, no tweeters just 4 door speakers and 2 underseat subs. As I only had the aux input to the stereo I retrofitted the parrot asteroid mini to give me bluetooth and usb.

My understanding of the listing is an amp is recommended but not required. After fitting the speakers I would look into coding the head unit for the hiFi upgrade.

About 10 years to late

About 10 years to late
Base system doesn't have enough power for the base
speakers if you put better speakers in they will require
more power. The volume will drop also the eq setup is
for no tweeters . Read the audio build sticky for the base
system .
