Eton is the OEM manufacturer of a lot of E90 chassis stereo parts. I believe they also make drop in replacement speakers for our cars that are cost effective and some in the UK have used them with good results. I heard on here that the under seat woofers they manufacture are pretty good replacements, on par with the Jehnert's that many people run.

Thank you. I came across one on e-bay as mine has recently died. I have the hifi system though so I wonder how 4 channels would cut it. I guess I'd have to lose the rears... But I'd rather not.

Another possible alternative would be to run a JL Audio 600/6. That is more wattage at 75 watts per channel at 4 ohms or 100 watts at 2 ohms. There are a lot of people here that have added this to a Hi Fi system as a good first upgrade until they do speakers.

That's the plan. My JL GC6600 died. Since then I have been planning ahead e.g. Helix dsp. For now I have put the stock amp back in and I'm being reminded constantly of how it lets the whole set up down.
