Oil pan baffle for the N55

Over on the 1-series forum I have just read what I believe is malfunction due to oil starvation on a N55.

Anyone planning to make a weld-in baffle for our engines?

I'll be on the list for a pre-order!

First I've ever heard of this and this motor has been around since the E90 days. Probably a rare thing.

AFAIK you just run the M2 pan/baffle setup. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1893538

It is rare.

Only affects non xdrive n55 -- from what I've seen mostly from track use. I am no expert, but I believe long left turns can starve the engine as the oil settles with gravity to one side of the pan away from the oil pickup.

Again, no expert.. Just what I recall from reading about the issue.... xdrive oil pan apparently acts as a natural baffling system... if you look up the part numbers for the n55 oil pan youll see the difference.

True. Hard STRAIGHT line braking will see oil pressure drop to 22-25psi. During my own track days (running Cup2 and AD08R) this was not exacerbate by left turns. I think people will be safe running DOT tires with proper oil level.

Log from GIC in Guangzhou:
https://datazap.me/u/harkes/gic-trac...&data=14-17-18

T7 and T8 are the worst as I remember. T7 is trail braking into hairpin left and T8 is full lateral G under load.
