Caliper paint brush or spray?

For those that have painted their calipers which method did you use brush or spray paint? Any preference over one from the other? I figure with the spray paint u can get some evenly coverage if applied right. With the brush I would think you don't have to mask everything off (wheel well, suspension, fender) just the rotor assembly.

I decided instead of gloss black I'm thinking of satin black unless you guys think gloss would be a better way to go aesthetically? I'm also planning on painting the hub and the shield black too!

If you paint use a foam brush. I've never sprayed before.

I painted using a brush takes longer but no need to mask everything off and you can get right into the smaller area and behind and on the underside. You will get better coverage imo

Good input! I'm assuming the clear would have to be applied by brush too?

I've done both methods. The brush provided better coverage and lasted much better

Does the paint come out evenly? No brush strokes visible?

It does come out evenly however I believe the preparation and cleaning of the caliper is probably just as important. Making sure the caliper is clean of dirt, grease, road grime, etc. ensures that the paint will stick and last. Otherwise the paint will probably chip over time.

When springtime ever comes around I'll get to it but at the same time I'll be swapping out the suspension with coilovers.

The logos can be purchased from eBay

Calipher painting

I spray painted mine and they still look great (even though they are white) after 20 months. Takes a little more time yes in setup, but the actual painting then goes quick. Considering you do multiple coats (that then only take a few seconds each to spray) the prep work time averages out. The brake lines are long enough to be able to set the brakes on a block of two 2x6s I used to paint them on. My pics are too big to post but could email if you wanted to see.

You can see pics of the car on the VMR website at http://www.velocitymotoring.com/vmr-...llery_type=vmr

I rep their V710 wheels.
