Factory alarm, complete waste of $600, very angry

I just picked up my E92 from the dealer for installing the factory alarm.

This alarm is a complete piece of shit. Unbelievable, all I need and wanted was the shock sensor. I specificly asked the parts guy just to be sure. He assured me that it has shock sensor.

$600 and quite a bit of hassle later. My jaws dropped to the floor. Terrible experience. $600 down the toilet, I could had used that towards Dinnan chip. I am getting the shock sensor install and integreted to the key tomorrow for $89 elsewhere. Just costing another trip and more hassle.

I don't have problem spending on modding, but when it comes to wasting on something that is completely pointless. That is hard for me to swallow, not to mention the hassle of making 2 seperate trips.

It has a tilt sensor to prevent jacking/towing.

Just noticed this. Sorry to bring it back from the dead. Searching to do the same thing to my factory alarm for my X5

For my e92 m3 I installed a shock sensor and wired it in the headliner next to the motion sensor in the middle. Works very good and triggers alarm with any impact. U can set the sensitivity. Unfortunately bmw factory alarms only have doors, motion, tilt. So for a few extra bugs u can install an aftermarket shock sensor.

I have it on my e92 and works fine bought another sensor for my f15 x5 and didn't work so good. I believe this application only works on the older models. What model do u have?

It's a DEI 504D

Here's the link to the install - you will need to make a small custom harness for it to wire into car system:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365095

Available on Amazon (of course):

https://www.amazon.com/Directed-Elec...words=dei+504d

The wire harness supplied with the sensor will not work so you must make one as in the DIY

I have this added to my factory alarm - just make sure you adjust the sensitivity - if you have it set too low, simply setting something on the roof of your car will set it off...
