ODO and Clock Reset Only When the Time is set. IBS or Battery?

Hey guys! I've had this problem where the clock and ODO reset every time I shut the car off and left it for more than a few hours. After doing it multiple times a day I said screw it and stopped setting the clock, and it was good for the whole weekend (I ran the trip meter up to like 50 miles). Today before I went in to work I decided to set the clock again and when I left to lunch it had reset again. I checked the battery charge against my Dad's 07 E92 335i (mine being an 08 e90 335i) and it had a better charge than his. Anyone else have this problem as well? I was thinking it's the IBS sensor but have no way of telling to be honest, no codes or anything.

Thanks!

Edit: It always starts up no problem, but when the ODO trip and clock reset, I cant use comfort access/

Sounds like you need to get your IBS checked out.

It's the OEM battery, so I'm afraid of buying 200 for the new IBS cable when it was just a battery. I'm going to swap the IBS cable with my dads e92 and see how that works for me.

I cant remember off the top of my head I'll have to check when I get home from work, I'm not sure what sag means in the terms of starting the car, could you clarify? And its the OEM battery from 08 so 7-8 years old. I haven't checked the date on it yet.

Hey, just a follow up on this. I didn't get around to changing the battery, but I did find a cheap IBS sensor off e-bay for like 70 dollars and been driving it around for the past few days and no clock or ODO reset so hopefully it resolves this problem.

your battery is 7+ years old and you are wondering if you need a new battery?
