Step 1, V2 can display more than 15 PSI...

This was done on the road, not simulated, so it is actual in-car logged data. I made some minor hardware changes to verify that the PROcede was able to see the higher numbers and it did. Unfortunately, the map is not made for the changes I made and was running pretty high boost, but that is being worked on.

As promised, more testing is being done and progress is being made. I hope to have more information over the weekend and be even closer to a solution for the overboost issues.

If the Reader can see boost higher than 15.2 psi, then why doesn't anyone else graphs so this...What did you do to make the program see this boost??

As I mentioned, boost was not stable at this point and this was just a step. I would rather not disclose what was done until all is in order. We know someone would try this and end up blowing up their engine.

It should suffice to say for the time being that it wasn't much.

I should note that after discussions; I will need to make more changes, not additional, just different. The new map along with the hardware changes should be in place this weekend and results will be supplied

I installed my cattless DPs yesterday and datalogged. Max boost was 14.6 psi.

Should I trust the PROcede software or should I disable PROcede until the map is out?

I would suggest getting an external gauge to verify. Some are fine without it but it is good just to be sure. In addition, I wouldn't try to up the UT values until you have that external gauge.

Interesting! What UT value did you use to get that boost?

Have you ever seen 17.8 PSI on a V2 log?

Just 94%, but it really isn't about the level, it is the fact I can see above the 15 PSI range in the logger.

If you want to know...OP's with guages are seeing more than 15.2-15.3...Where the boost log shows flat spots, people are seeing 17-20psi!!!!
I bet you won't see anything higher than 15.2-15.3 in your logs even if you raised the UT!!!

@scalbert: Are the hardware modifications restricted to the PROcede harness ?

Forgive me for my ignorance but it seems your overboost is only about 0.25sec long (time over about 15 psi). Is this enough to cause real damage to the car? This also seems to only occur at WOT. So this presumably would not be the norm seen by the car unless you track the car.

So does it really matter?

Sometimes, and other times longer. It is those others time which the overboost lasts for a second or two, that I worry. If it was 0.25 second long spike to 17 PSI, I would care less. It is when it hits near 20 PSI and holds there for a moment that I start to worry.

But to further clarify, the overboost only occurs in warmer weather with higher UT settings and when romping on it in the 3000 - 4000 RPM range. So you can avoid it but it would be best to eliminate it.

Agreed,..eliminate would be best. But, I'm in warmer weather than you and I have recorded 15.4 boost (90% UT settings) on gear shifts 2-3 and 3-4. They were momentary and at 54 degrees outside temp. Getting warmer here and wondering a bit about this as summer approaches.

As always,..appreciate your posts and input!

Do you have an external gauge? Regardless, you should be fine on 90% UT settings.

No. I'm not sure how to hook one up and dont know where to put it so it wouldn't look out of place in my car. I'm also new to this tuning stuff and trying to find an appropriate shop to install some of these mods I have in mind (Exhaust, IC, CAI). For now I'm 90% UT settings and completely stock otherwise.
