folding rear view mirrors

I just got a '15 428i cv in Estoril Blue M Sport...
I want the rear view mirrors to auto-fold when I lock the car. The manual says you can tap on the door handle for a few seconds and that should do it. No luck for me -- only the doors are locked when I do that. The small square button in the driverside mirror control panel does the trick though.

Any advice?

Needs to be coded to fold when locking in the US.

OP is referring to side view mirrors before anyone flames him.

It's just a matter of hitting the button upon exiting the vehicle. You'll learn to do it on instinct after a while.

I have it coded to only fold if I hold the key fob or press the comfort access button for 2 seconds. Otherwise my car will just lock as normal. I like the option of not having them fold, though there is probably never a reason why I wouldnt want them folded...LOL.

Thanks all. And yes, I meant side view mirrors.

So it's not configurable in the settings menu I guess, though the manual suggests this behavior. Weird. If it requires coding / cabling and stuff, I won't mess with it for now.

You have to remember that the cars are built for global markets. They generally do a good job of matching the manuals to the market, but occasionally something slips through. And, yes, software and cables required to code it.
