JL XD600/6 Vs XD700/5
Trying to figure out the best option here.
Current setup is: Hi-fi running a JL xd600/6 (ver1) Fronts are Morel Dotech Ovations Rear are BAVsound upgrade speakers. Under-seat Earthquake sws8 (4 ohm) the JL got wet and the rear channel is dead I also have a set of Jehnert xe 200's I will most likely replace the sws8's with the Jehnert's but I need to know if there is a benefit to going with the XD700/5 to drive them (mono) or should I just get another XD600/6 |

id get the helix pp82 dsp. power all the small speakers with it and bridge your remaining working channels on the 600/6 to power the underseats. youll improve staging and power will be huge (no Trump intended)!

I think stereo under seats is better.

Who needs rears? You're good with 4 channels.

Website lists them at 130 watt nominal and 200 watt peak. Plays as low as 42Hz and up to 4,000Hz.
I like the idea of stacking the XD600 on the PP82DSP, but, are you overpaying for the PP82 since in this setup you will use it as a DSP-only because the XD600 packs more juice and will be used as an amp in this setup? |

But now i'm intrigued....maybe I should just go with that as an all in one. But I really think the Subs and the Morel's will handle more than the PP82 puts out. And I have never been one to "love" DSP sound anyway. |

Well you could go active on the doors with the 82dsp

Yes adding and extra level of processing might add artifacts or color the sound in the earlier processors but I wonder how the helix's do ? |

While the PP82, IMO, is a sound quality device due to the low wattage output, it still cranks and sounds great. I can turn the volume up all the way on the head unit, and also program the PP82DSP to increase all gains to the Jehnerts, and I know the Jehnerts can take a lot more power. What I don't know if how JL Audio's amp compares with the PP82. Is 55 watts from the PP82 = to 55 watts from the JL Audio amp or what? |

https://www.minidsp.com/products/min...-box/c-dsp-6x8 As good as the helix box, and considerably cheaper (but not plug and play, and no amplification).

I have the same question. If you look at some of the other minidsp alternatives they have the "three-wire" balanced option, while the C-DSP 6x8 has only a two-wire high level input option. It may still function properly, but I would check with the manufacturer first.
