Jet black paint scratch

So I have washed my new car a few times and have been very careful when drying to avoid scratching the paint. However, I noticed a scratch on the hood and would like some advise on how to remove. I should add that I have used the two bucket method, proper dying technique (or so I thought), etc and this one scratch is the only one I can find.

I use Meguiar's Scratch X for fine scratches. For deeper scratches I'll go to their #2 Fine Cut Cleaner. Both have given me great results.

Put your hands in a quality sandwhich bag, I like Gladd, and carefully feel if your fingernail can catch on the scratch.

If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail you know the scratch is deep enough to require polish/compound and likely machine correction.

If the scratch is not capable of catching your fingernail, polishes or waxes and hand applied product may buff out the scratch.

I would first use (after washing and claying ) wax like Meguiars Hi-Tech Wax with microfiber towels to feel and see if the scratch deminishes. If you need more aggressive polishing, I like Zaino ZP-C with microfiber towels to buff out scratches by hand.

If you can't do it by hand a professional detailer or you can buy a machine polisher and pads and product to buff out the hood.

Turtle wax makes a back to black 3 step wax kit. If the scratch isn't bad as others have advised it may be worth a shot. Cleaner wax, gloss wax and final spray all of which are black. I find it fills little imperfections quite nicely.
