Has anyone taken delivery of a 340i in 6MT yet?

My Alpine White / Coral Red 340i xDrive M Package 6MT was just "released to carrier and awaiting vessel assignment" yesterday (11/11). My destination port is NY/NJ. The wait is killing me!

I drove an auto 340i at the dealership and an M5 with 6MT (to get a feel for the rev-matching manual) but have not driven an actual 340i with 6MT.

Please someone tell me how they like their 340i 6MT!? How do you like the rev-matching feature? How's the handling with the new suspension links? +1 if you can give feedback with with the ZTR Track Handling Package!

Oh man, my 340 xDrive 6MT is probably going to be on the same ship as yours! Currently awaiting shipping vessel. Of course mine has to come to Colorado, which for some reason has to pass through the Panama Canal and into LA so I'll be waiting longer than you.

Oh that's so cool! I just ordered it on 11/2 so I think 7 business days is really fast. Hoping we get assigned to a vessel sooner than later. The voyage takes sooooo loooong...

No track package, but the rev matching is awesome. Especially when you want to pass a punk on the free way in a G37...lol sorry just happened.

You will love it, it's actually a little surprising at first since I came from a car without rev matching. Handling is superb, the sport mode doesn't have any sort of body roll with the adaptive suspension.

I took ED of mine in September and it's currently at Port Hueneme. The 6MT is very easy to drive and rev matching makes downshifting brainless. I do have the track package and am not quite sold on steering feel, but I'm coming from an E90 335i, so I was ready for disappointment.

The engine is a bit more aggressive sounding than the N54 and N55.

Mildly off topic, but relating to manual transmissions, I just read in the new Road and Track that the new A4 will in fact come with a 6MT later in 2016. I thought it was not going to be available...I find that strange since they have announced that they are NOT offering a 6MT in the S4. Super dumb in my opinion.

BMW went the opposite route, no more manual in the 328i, only the 340i. Not sure about the 320.

I'm referring to the upcoming (2017?) A4/S4...new models announced, but not yet available.

I shopped the 2016 S4 before I ordered the 340i.

You cannot order the A4/S4 AT ALL with ANY transmission. They have shut down orders and are preparing to do the same with the factory as they are doing a model changeover.

I tried to get one and no dealer would give an S4 with the manual up. Not bad for a car with a transmission from yesteryear.

Really a Karma stroke for me as I would have bought the S4 without going to BMW. I only went there when I got shut out of the S4.

I think that worked out for me as I prefer to order a $50+K car instead of taking what is available. And the Audi dealer said there were no plans to offer manuals in the 2017 Audi A4/S4 as far as he knew.

I did not consider another brand aside from BMW.

So if I wanted a "2016 AWD 6MT sport sedan" it seems as though I'd have very few options. What other car would meet this criteria? Very surprised Audi does not have a comparable 2016 A4/S4 in 6MT.

i think the xdrive is only available with manual with the 340 but RWD might be available with 328?

Tbh I'm not sure, all I know is that the manual and inline six combo is the most important!

Manual is/should be available with 320i/328i RWD sedans.
