Haven't used the Wi-Fi dongle. I registered my new battery and coded comfort features using an Amazon K+CAN cable. Once you set the communication speed right it's pretty solid.

I use Android via BT adapter..have coded mirrors to fold with fob, disable seat belt chime, increased angel eye, brightness and open and close windows and sunroof with fob.

Thanks everyone. So you're generally happy with the app, just need to be sure it's also ok with the iPhone.

I use the wifi adapter from them and have been very happy with it. It's a little finicky when you're in range of a known wifi signal (i.e. In the garage still in range of the home wifi). If you forget the known wifi signal and reconnect to Carley it is solid.
It works on Minis too. I use the same app for our Mini Cooper. |

One thing I didn't see the app would do, but I would love it, does it get rid of the Nav warning that pops up every time you start the car?

No it does not do that..but it is in the works, however you then have to purchase a different bt adapter. Not sure I like that.

Well, I managed to connect and got some readings, and also managed a reset,
Went for a drive, tried to reconnect, but nothing. Best part of 3 hours wasting my time trying to make this thing connect. Tried absolutely everything. I feel like throwing it in the trash. Don't want to do any damage to my ecu. |

I must admit I didn't try the "forget the known wifi signal".
I unplugged my home wifi router, turned off the Bluetooth, drove away from home to avoid neighbours wifi, deleted reinstalled the app, downloaded the lite app for my Samsung S5 (android needed the Bluetooth dongle), restarted the iPhone, unplugged and reinserted the wifi dongle on the obd. I tried all the above 10+ times. I'll try again tomorrow, deleting the known wifi from my phone. Cheers. |
