Question about Convertible
I have 07 e90 and I think it is time to change. I am thinking about going for a convertible this time. Since I have not followed threads related to e93 that much so I am kind of new to this.
First of all how is this deal. 2013 335i convertible from BMW dealer. It is BMW certified and they are asking $31,955. 34K miles with Nav, premium, convenience and cold weather pkg. I think no sports. Color- White with Saddle interior 1. Is there any major difference between 2012 and 2013 335i Convertibles? 2. Is their anything I need to look for while shopping around for these. I mean any specific repair or known issue which I need to be aware of. thanks |

Stay the hell away from E93s, unless you have deep pockets, and a high tolerance for creaks, bangs and rattles, and frustrating bullshit like potential leaking seals and other nonsense.
I'd go coupe. Thank me later. |

I love my E93.
It's convertible weather year round here so that helps. FYI all convertibles have the sport package as standard. Including the m-sport suspension and sports seats (as there is no x-drive version of the E93). 1. Not that I know of. 2. Nothing more than any other 335i. The roof is pretty bullet proof to be honest. It'll leak under pressure like any convertible, so avoid high pressure car washes etc. Keep your seals clean maintained with Gummi or Krytox, and keep your roof mechanism lubed up with Wurth and you're good to go. |

I can't advise you on price because this is a regional thing.
Basically we have the same issues as e92s. With the roof, there is nothing really you can inspect before buying, besides making sure it works. But just be warned that any possible roof problems will be very costly. I'm willing to take that risk though and can't imagine not having a hard top convertible again.

Well... you live and learn. I was under the impression that all E93's and E92's (without x-drive) had at least the m sport suspension / seats package.
I'll consider myself educated. *pro-tip you want the sports suspension / seats lol |

+10. There is nothing worse than standard seats once you have had sports seats. I had a 530XI Wagon that had standard seats and it was just awful. Sports seats will be an absolute requirement on any BMW I own from here forward.

OP I would stay away from the e93, the roof creaks and rattles along with the seals going bad causing it to leak. |

I actually wanted to get 2013 335i sedan to replace my 07 e90 but when I started looking for prices I was surprised to see that Convertibles/Coupes are selling for the same price as Sedan. I was under the impression the e93 are always 3-4K more then e90.
Now I am bit confused on what to get. Local BMW dealer got 2 certified 2013 e93 between 31-34K with less then 35K miles. MSRP for both of these are around 60K so it is almost half the price. I think this price is negotiable too. Is there any forum where I can research more of the price paid on the car. |

We just bought our 2013 E93 1 owner, black/black with 20,000 mi 2 months ago, it was like new condition with most every option and we paid 38,000. What a great car, I hope to get many (major) trouble free miles. I read up on the issues before buying and just love the look of the car enough I decided to roll the dice.

Since op is in FL, how often will the top be up anyway. Also, far less creaks and rattles in warm weather. I would definitely do it. |

Man what opinions and many from members that don't even own the E93. There is credibility for you.
My top has had a total of zero issues in 8 years and 1/2 years so go figure. The rest of the car all E90 335 issues apply. They are no more worse or better than the E90 and E92. Thing is no matter how nice your coupe or sedan it doesn't offer the driving experience top down. I have owned coupes and sedan including multiple M3's and each has their place. If you don't value the experience of the E93 top down pass it by. I would never by an E92 since I hate the doors on the E92 being too long and they are the same as the E93. PITA in the parking lot. Sports seats? Well totally subjective. I personally hated the sports seats in previous E36 and E46 M3's and ordered the E93 without sports package. I am happy with that decision but the E90-2-3's with sport seats are much improved in bolster width and wider seat pan. They would have been a good choice but no E90-2's where available when I ordered and I had to extrapolate from the E46 M3. I very much like my E93 obviously but I never warmed to it like my M3. I have experienced the issues related to the 335 engine and subsystems but have had no top issues what so ever including creaks and rattles. You get members that have had bad experiences with the E93. You get that with every model BMW out there. The decision is yours remember this is a convertible you can't track so who gives a flip about sport suspension and seats when this is a cruiser not a racer. It make no sense what so ever to buy an E93 and go boy racer with this 4000 pound car with a high center of gravity. It isn't that kind of car and if you plan to use it like a boy racer you will be disappointed since you give away 350-400 pounds over the coupe and sedan... |
