Low Tire Pressure Warning Limits Driving Mode Selection

Maybe this is common knowledge, but tonight - after the car gave me a low tire pressure warning - the car would not let me switch into Sport mode. I'm not even sure why I tried (I usually keep it in Comfort), but whenever I hit the mode button, it refused to change and would prompt the Low Tire Pressure display in the dash.

It's a safeguard so you don't go too fast incase you have a flat or something, wouldn't want to damage your rim.

Yeah, it makes sense. I just thought it was interesting and wanted to pass it along. I hadn't read about it before.

I noticed that last time I had a low pressure warning. I switched into Sport mode, and it worked for a couple seconds, then I felt the steering wheel loosen up again. Looked at the iDrive and it had switched itself back into Comfort mode.

Nope, didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up.

I had the TPM system wake up last Fall when the weather turned cold. I probably didn't even try switching to Sport before filling them.
