Catless downpipe on with bms stage 1 tune

Is there anything wrong with installing a downpipe if i only have a stage 1 tune other than the CEL. Will it affect the performance of the car or will the CEL be the only thing that's affected by the downpipe?

There won't be much of a downside if you can deal with that CEL on(and not being able to pass emissions) as well as the smell of unburnt fuel while at a stoplight( unless you pay extra for a thermal coating that some brands offer like ER, off the top of my head) The downpipe will allow the turbo to breathe better, and won't affect the car very much besides having a louder exhaust tone than stock and will add power that you're looking for. Just remember that with with any preformance modification it will put more stress on the engine, causing premature wear and tear down the road. Hope this helps.

Nothing wrong at all, you can also get the BMS can flap module to delete the code that pops out every 100 miles.

Smell is overrated in my opinion and you only smell it on cold start.

If you put your foot down respectively on that pedal for at least a few minutes it will smell once you get to a light if you drive throughout city streets. Not a lot, but its noticeable to more than just the driver. I experience it a lot considering I have the downpipe and other goodies put on while driving through the town. Simple fix is just driving with the windows cracked or down when/if that happens, youll hear more of the exhaust and turbo spool anyways so its a win/win lol. Im sure everyone's driving habits aren't the same but that's my .02

I beg to differ, but I will say that it is more prevalent in a cab then a coupe. I could smell it at every stop and sometimes while driving with the top down.

It's not repulsive, but it is noticeable.

some people are more sensitive to it than others. I have never smelled fuel smell except on cold start I have a 2007 coupe and 2013 f30 328 ... if the smell is very noticeable I would check for leaks

If you pick a trusted brand + get the DP installed correctly you would only notice the smell on cold start if car is on idle for couple minutes
