Estoril Blue 335i v Long Beach Blue M2

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Was heading over the bridge today so I figured I would stop to see if I can find the M2, and I was in luck.

In some of the pictures on this board LBB looks very similar to EBII, in person it is much tealer, as you can see in the pictures below compared to my car.
(sorry about my filthy wheels, just had the snow tires put on)

Thanks, these are the perfect comparison photos. Some cameras make LBB look like Estoril Blue, but as we can see from these pics, the color doesn't look anything like Estoril Blue.Your camera captured what the color really looks like.

Thank you oh so much! This is what I will be moving from and to! Now in your mind, is this really representative? What's your evaluation/opinion of the colour going from EBII to LBB? Also, I assume that the brakes are EBII?

it is definitely a change which I like, it isn't just "another blue car." These pics came out very accurate, the M2 is clearly teal. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the brakes but I think they are blue and the car is teal. Green is my favorite color so the teal in the m2 is a cool way to work in that color without having a full blown green car.

edit: here is a shot I took which shows the brakes well, they are the ebii brakes

Man you guys are all lucky going to BMW NA to check the car out. I wish I can do the same here in Southern California.

Ok this might seem like a strange comment, but doesn't the color feel "high-tech?" IDK but especially next to the estoril blue it feels hyper modern.

That looks way more teal than any other photo. The other photos (non-BMW) look far more blue including the walk around video (which the author says is true to actual colour). If it's this teal then I won't order blue

in sunlight, the teal really shows but in shade a lot less

Remember, the YouTube video was taken late in the day, like 6/6:30 p.m., so the sun was setting and the car was slightly darker. The pics in this thread were earlier in the day, with more sun. I think the video and the photos in this thread are similar enough. Long Beach Blue is definitely Teal.

wow this is the most complex color ive ever seen, i guess its not only the lighting elements but also perspective next to other colors that affect LBB

Still don't like LBB. It looks the color of that old crest kids tooth paste with the glitter in it. But I can see why people like it. It's metallic and does cool things. In my opinion, in shade or unnatural lighting it has a blue that's lighter than estoril - a bit less opaque I guess. Then in sunlight it can transition to turquoise. I guess I don't like either of these. The only redeeming part about this paint is its highly reflective and metallic sheen. Some metallic paints have a nice property about them that inspire thoughts of robots and high tech machinery.

Too funny! I remember the exact toothpaste you are talking about and it is definitely that color.

I love Estoril Blue (I had an e36 M3 in EB) and I wish we could get it on the M2, however LBB is just a totally "different" color than any color you can get on a regular car. I don't love teal all that much, but this could be a welcome change. I have a unique personality and I believe a car (and color) is an extension of your personality (IMO), so I think this will fit because it's unique. Now, that is not to say I won't change my mind and get MG or AW once I see it in person. According to most people that have seen LBB in person, they really like it, but internet pictures don't do it justice.

Ive seen LBB in person, and these pics are pretty representative of the color, maybee in person it has a bit more metallic flake to it. Its definitely a color designed to be looked at...
