Will it fit?

That's what she said hahah all jokes aside.

I feel like the M2 will looks much better with wider rubber.

I'm thinking of swapping the rear 265s up front and installing 295s in the rear. The 10" rear wheels will have no problem holding 295s.

I'm just wondering if the 265s will rub up front.

What's everyone's thoughts on this idea?

My friend is setting 295 rear and 255 front on his 1M. Idk if they are comparable in this matter tho.

It's probably possible. I would try immediately on delivery. The 1m rear 10l wide wheel and tire will fit up front. Most people don't try and run square with OEM wheels likely due to cost.

On the oem wheels 265 runs slightly and 255 does not run at all so most people do 255.

For track I run apex arc 8 18x 10 all around on my 1m.

285/35/18 fits all four corners for track. A 315/35/18 fits on The rear with 18x10.5 and even wider is possible.

Hope this carries over on the '2. All these turbo cars nee d more rubber

Given the M2 uses the same wheels as the M4, I suspect if a wheel/tire combo fits the M4 it will fit the M2. What you suggest works on the M4.

Having said that, no one knows yet so it is purely speculation.

In order to keep the balance, I would consider moving the 265s to the front and put 275/35s on the rear. They'll be closeer in diameter that way too. Yeah you can't rotate front to rear but that doesn't matter to me at least. 295/30s might be too much grip in the rear but maybe that's needed.

Even though a 295 will fit on the factory 10", it will look grossly bulgy.

The f8x has 10in rear wheels, and if seen a few with 295 section rear and it looks perfect actually.

As you know it depends on which tire you use. I agree with Twix that a few of them might work but will look bulgy.

Here is a Michelin PSS 295 on a 10" wheel.

Here is a popular thread over on the M4 forums detailing tire options for stock wheels. Lots of good info already compiled there.

But the M2 has slightly narrower tires though, 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 vs the 255/275 on the M3/M4.

BMW says the larger M4 rubber won't fit. I call bullshit. They probably reduced the width to slow the car around the ring, otherwise, it'd be too close to the M4 in terms of performance.

That's complete BS from BMW... 10mm on the tires is largely irrelevant unless clearance is already REALLY tight. No manufacturer specs cars that tight from the factory. I bet big money people will be running 265/295 (or bigger) sizes on the M2 once wheel manufacturers get offsets that will work.

As I said in an earlier thread the M2 has less room than its bigger siblings so to get that extra safety margin that the manufacturer needs (for snow chains etc) they opted to go down in size. Under no circumstance would BMW release a car that could risk rubbing in any situation that might occur.

Fitting wider tires will be no issue at all, probably not M3/M4 offsets but adding 8-10 mm should be doable when looking at the photos. This is of course just my amateur opinion from looking at way to many Long Beach Blue M2's.
