Ring a friend and ask them what number you're calling from

No. It's not that kind of Sim Card, it's data only so doesn't have a CLI.

Should still have a number.

Have you tried sticking it in an iphone and seeing what number it populates the "My Number" field with at the top of your contacts? Or settings>phone>my number?

When buying my LCI, I discovered that one of the differences now with the EBT option is that the car is equipped with a 4G sim card. If you don't take the EBT option, only a 3G sim is fitted. This sim card cannot be subsequently changed as the sim card is allocated to the car.

My iPad data only sim has an '07' number, it's used to top it up/account management etc.. I assume you can call 999 and BWM Breakdown from the car (without your phone) using the phone network, and they can ring you back - which would require a number.

Do they ring you back or does the line stay open when you ring them? 999 will hardly call you back!!

They will if the line goes dead and they have cause to believe there is an emergency or you're danger, that's why they ask for your number which of course you won't know if the car calls them! But I'd be surprised if they don't have caller ID.

The car will call 999 if the systems tell it to, (airbags gone off etc...) or you can use the SOS button yourself it puts you through to them.

I had always wanted to press the button, I was hit by a van at 50mph whilst stationary on the A1, and I got my wish!

A friend wrote off my M3 and he came to in the car with 999 on the line as the car had called them.

If you could find where the SIM card is and get the imsi from it you should then be able to find the msisdn (phone number). However if you could find the sim it would be easier to just pop it into another phone and then call yourself.

Hmmm. If you spec Pro Nav, it comes with map updates for 3 years over 4G, irrespective of EBT? Friend who just got a 2 series does... Pro Nav with 4G, no EBT.
