New car questions

How's it going guys, just picked up my new car today pretty excited over it. Stepped out of a 328i into a 228i. I know there was some cool little things in my old car that I learned on here so I was just curious if anyone has any tips about these new cars. Also may seem like a dumb question but the guy at he dealer tried to convince me to not change them, but if I were to get a square set of m235 wheels and put them on my car would it throw a code? Thanks in advance -David

I just had my genius appointment today for my M235xi and I thought it was really cool that you can pretty much save anything to the 8 buttons on the dash. A phone number, radio station, address, and even a display like the sport displays. You can also just touch (not press) the buttons and it will show what is saved to that button. Interesting little tid bits.

There are no problems changing wheels, as long as you have the correct fitment (235 wheels are fine, as are tire sizes) and the new wheels have TPMS sensors. Without the TPMS sensors you will throw an error. The M235 comes with two wheel options - Square (225/40/18) and staggered (225/40/18 + 245/35/18). You would have to decide which fitment you prefer.

There is a whole "cool stuff/tips" thread in the general forum you can look for, lots of little pieces of info like that.

I highly recommend scheduling an Encore appointment with your respective dealership's BMW Genius. They are filled with tons of product knowledge and should be able to show you a ton of cool things you may not know about your vehicle.

Feel free to PM me also, I am a Genius for my dealership and if you want to make the drive here we can set something up for you. (I see you're from NJ; I'm in PA-near Philly)
