Question about adding paddle shifters to a steering wheel without them.

So I've done some searching for this but haven't been able to find anything super conclusive.

I found a steering wheel I really like for sale online without paddle shifters and contacted the seller. They said that it would not be an option to ever add paddles because the steering wheel neither has the slot for them, nor the bolts necessary to mount them to the wheel. My question is if my car already has paddles, and also the panel on the back of the wheel with the precut slots for them to attach to, could I not just take the paddles and the back from my current sportline wheel and transfer that to the new wheel without paddles before installing? Or is there truly not a spot for the paddles to bolt onto if the steering wheel doesn't already have them configured for them?

This is the wheel btw:

Sorry if there is a post about this already. I looked and only saw posts of people adding entire steering wheels to their car with paddles and the subsequent coding but since I already have them and just want to add the paddles to a preexisting wheel thought it might be different.

i was under the impression that the wheel had to fit the paddles so the slots and mounting points needed to be there.

So... you're saying you'd assume all steering wheels no matter how they are packaged would have the appropriate places to bolt in the paddles?

Steering wheels for paddles and no paddles are different. This one clearly is of the latter type.

Take a pass, keep looking.
