Aftermarket seat for the M2

Sorry for my english!☺
I would like to change the seats in my M2.In Europa (Germany's licence plate) it's a very difficult process. The only one buckle seat what can I easy built in the car,the Recaro Pole Position ABE.Another buckle seats don't have ABE,which would be important for a street legal. When you drive with aftermarket seats without ABE,you must pay lot of money for a police man...In another country it' easy or difficult change the seats?I don't watch in live, but my favorite seat the Bride Gias II.Has anyone experience with this seat?My another favorite the New Civic Type R seats?M2 with Type R seats?Crazy idee...!Another alternatives?

Sorry to say that the Rec Pole Position is a fixed back seat so can not fold for entry egress to the rear seat so is of no use in a M2.

I would probably want to go with m performance seats. I hope some new seats come out from BMW. I want to retain the side air bags.

In which case Recaro Pole Position is just about the standard fare. Anything from M3 and M4 GTS to Megane RS275 Trophy-R use them.

I can understand some complaints about the seats in the coming M2, meaning how they look......

But that is just 1/2 the story, it is about how they perform in a seating way.

Let me tell you this;

Driving a Cayman GTS with sportseats + and have driven a 1M for 4 years and have it sold (with some heartache I must confess) just 1 week ago.
The seats of the 1M do outperform the Cayman seats, not by a small margin, they are miles better. Yes the Porker sits lover and 1M too high, but on lumbar support, inflatable settings witch can be personalized in a way that can never done in te GTS the 1M seats are great!!
Also there is no seat extension for the upper leg on the sportseats+, it makes me very cramped driving.

1M seats, one size fits all due to its multiple settings that can be easily adjusted to once preference
Sportseats + one size, and if you are lucky it wil fit, but low chance to that, too little adjustment possibilities IMO

I do have full confidence in the M2 seats, they will have the same characteristics as the former 1M, witch is GOOD !!

which seats did IND use in their M235i Project car? I would look into that, if they will fit/work. They did a heck of a job on the interior of that car.

Awesome looking seats. They even keep the airbags, heat, and use rails. Too bad they cost $6k.

It's a good thing you got this post in here before people began suggesting installing Porsche seats or going and buying a Porsche instead.

I wonder what the M3 seats cost. I expect they would fit without much trouble for those looking for a fully adjustable seat.

I am also hesitating to buy an M2. I am not a huge fan of sport seats (F21 125d, M235i cabrio), they are not comfortable for my back (I am 74kg and 172cm tall)).

What is in my mind, that i retrofit the M4 seats. Based on realoem, they have the same frames, so they interchangeable somehow. Maybe some coding required at the end.

Ask yo dealer.

I don't like the fact that M3 seats don't have that thigh extender. I mean, they've had it since the 70's. Why not now?

Not sure if lumbar and heating are standard on the M2, but if swapping out to M4 seats, your going to want the M2 ones to have lumbar, heating and electric with memory for the best chance of a straight swap

Agreed on the thigh extender - really helps on those longer trips.

I've got an F80 M3 and my GF has an M235i. Her seats are every bit as supportive as mine, and actually more comfortable on longer drives. The M2 seat whining on the forum is a ridiculous complaint, especially when M is putting those seat dollars to work in other more important performance components.

Frankly, I'm shocked that the M3/M4 wheels are being offered on the M2 for such a cheap upgrade px, so people should count their blessing about the gifts from M instead of bitching about frickin' mirrors.

I'm not bitching as I have never sat in the M3/4 seats for more than a short time so I can't say if they are significantly better than my 235 seats. I was merely speculating. I could check with my dealer, but I don't have an M2 and I don't know that I personally would go to the trouble of swapping seats. 4-6k plus installation and coding seems a lot of money to me.

M2 sport seats vs M4 coupe seats

M2 has the same sport seats as any other f2x series cars.

Regarding the swap, i am focusing at this moment only for the frames.

This is the front seat frame for the M4 coupe:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=52_4034

And any other f2x series has the same frame:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=52107285857

From that point, they are interchangeable. (of course OP should take care of seat heating, seat memory, lumbart support, etc).

You can fit Recaro Sportster CS. They are heated, with airbags and Tüv.
Had them in my 135i and 235i.
