Brake vents
Hi All,
Not new to the forum, but new to 2 series. Recently purchased an M235i (and loving it). I was checking out what appears to be brake cooling ducts in the front bumper either side of the intercooler, and found blanking covers in the wheel arches. Any reason as to why these would be blocked off?? Cheers Steve |

The cooling ducts on my car were also closed off. (220i with the M kit)
Looking in the ducts I noticed that the ducts had a build up of insects and leaves in them which is collected as you drive along country roads. I called BMW about it and they said that it can over cool the brakes with the covers off, this may be possible in some cold climates but I didn't think it would be a problem in Sydney. So I removed the covers and let the air flow through with the bugs and crap. I will let you know if there is a problem. |
