228i M Sport big factory square setup

I wanted to do a square setup with some stock wheels, I bought a set of wheels from another M Sport 228i and since they are identical to my set I just put the 245/35r18 rears from the other car on the front of mine. I am using some 5mm spacers front and rear. I also put a set of 75mm wheel studs on to compensate for the spacers. I was able to drive on 3mm spacers with these wheels but the little new tire nibs were hitting the strut so I wanted the extra space.

Here are some pictures if anyone else is thinking about doing the same. I really like the way the car handles having that extra rubber in the front.

Looks good. Are you planning to lower it?

Not sure yet, I don't think it would take much to make it look really good at this point. I want to drive it like this for a while then decide. I am loving the extra grip up front, it's amazing what it does in tight corners at speed.

That's the nice thing about these cars. It doesn't take much to make them look good, just the subtle things here and there.

That's pretty impressive. Most if not all other people rub with anything wider than a 235 up front. I think it's because you're only running a 8in front wheel instead of a 8.5

What kind of tires are you running in the front? Stock suspension?

They are the 8" wheels with 245s. They are literally the same wheels and tires as the rears. Stock suspension and 5mm spacers or else they would be all over the strut housing. I had some 3mm spacers but they were just a little too close.

hmmm...I may try it on my M235i with 245s. What brand of tires did you go with?

They are the factory Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFTs.

I don't think I would want to run spacers on stock bolts. I just went with studs to make sure I would not run into issues.
