Car Wash?

So folks in here who don't have a yard or a driveway where you can wash your car -- where do you wash your car?

I have all the wash/care kit from BMW, and have been using the Brown Bear self serve wash just for the high powered rinsing. However, a friend gave me 20 wash coupons for Brown Bear as a gift, and unfortunately they can only be redeemed for the automatic ones.

So I was wondering what do people in here feel about the automatic washes, esp. Brown Bear? Do you guys use it? Any issues? If not, how do you keep your car clean?

Thanks!

I use the driveway, do it myself. Car washes all scratch something somehow, and am too old to be beefing with someone who genuinely doesn't know what they doing...

Brown bear and looking pathetic enough for someone to do it for me. I can teach you the needed expression.

Brown bear self wash at night with 2 buckets and all the other necessary stuff I need.

I go to the one in Learyway in Ballard and it is usually empty at night.

This is what I do in the winter time, otherwise everything gets done on my driveway

I have a garage and a driveway, AND i switched to Optimum no rinse. The have a rinse and wax product as well as a detail gloss spray. They all work excellent. I applied the Gloss Coat too, and think it is fantastic.

The quickest way to scratch your paint is to touch it with something. The less abrasive the better. BB is a good place but you are "touching" your paint with potentially small remnants from the muddy mini van before you.

Don't want to scratch your car? Do a fully body XPEL on your car.

If you aren't crazy like that, the next best is:
  1. use a foaming adapter on your pressure washer
  2. use the two bucket method (grit guards are a bonus)
  3. top/down panel by panel (meaning: rinse, re-soap mitt per panel)
  4. use a quality microfiber mitt
  5. sheet the water off
  6. use high pressure air to dry the car (never touch it with a towel/rubber blade, etc.)
  7. wax appropriately (dry/cool/shade, use clean applicators)

If you must use a towel, use a waffle microfiber of quality and blot it on the panels never wipe. high pressure air is MUCH better.

If you XPEL part or all of the painted surfaces, you can be less nutty on those areas (note wax is different).

I would never since I don't know what that is.

God put straight men to this planet to wash my cars. I'm so happy religion provided me the perfect answer to this one.

Lol, you're the exception to the rule?

Meh, it's more pity. You've seen how bad I am A. My car makes my mouth look shiny and sweet.

You know, sometimes what you say could be taken the wrong way.... lolz

I too have XPEL over the whole car (even under the rear bumper). I still wash it tenderly but I do sometimes wipe a waffle mf towel instead of blotting it if I am in a hurry. If I do I use a adams quick detail spray so as reduce the friction while drying the little bit of water that is left after sheeting.

And naturally it's always accidental!

But seriously. I need to wash my car.

car wash attendants

Has anyone found a car wash attendant who wasn't completely baffled about by trying to put their DCT cars in park? (part sarcasm)
