I'm not too technical and didn't ask too many questions after being told the engine, clutch and flywheel will be replaced under warranty. I just enthusiastically agreed lol. This is what happened: The initially went into the garage for an smg pump failure. Coincidentally the chief technician there noticed the engine didn't sound quite right. So to be thorough he investigated further and opened up the engine to find excessive wear and tear. It was a big surprise, because i hadn't noticed anything wrong with the engine. Anyway when I got the car back it felt like I had an extra 10% (50bhp) so I guess there must have been a problem with the old engine for sometime. Nope, car is stock except for tubi sports level mufflers and black kidney grill at the front. I have also upgraded rear lights to the lci ones. Bodywork needs a little tlc, drivetrain is in a1 condition. |

thanks for your reply IshR. I told the mrs that I was considering an E60 M5 and she said she'd leave me if I bought another car......... so i'm buying one today!
joking aside, I have just bought a new M135i for daily use and I am wary of any cars that have needed new engines, although I apprecaite it would be like having a new car all over again. not for me this time. good luck with your sale mate. are you looking to upgrade to the F10?
