Need new hpfp need advice
http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...OF6RoCatzw_wcB
Was looking at this pump was wondering if anyone had success with it or if you could point me to the new version for a good price! Might be the cause of my 30ff code in my car and the pump has been already replaced before. Thank you |

is 30ff your only code? that could be a lot of things, not just fuel pump. if you are under warranty, why not take it in? obviously something isn't right, so warranty should fix it

They will change it under warranty for free as many times as needed. They did mine 5 times. It's not a one time change.

What are your symptoms? Long crank start, limp mode, jerky acceleration =dead pump. If you have these they should replace. You can call bmwusa and complain the warranty isn't being honored. They will complain downhill for you. They will wait until it fails sometimes. My guys replaced after symptoms were present for a couple thousand miles. Pump had to tell the computer it was bad first.
Next time it goes into limp mode drive it in and leave it running. That should be enough. Last edited by Fundguy1; 09-29-2015 at 09:31 AM.. |

Interested to see how this will play out over the winter also. Last winter, the car would die every morning on cold starts. I would have to keep revving it until it could hold idle. This was also with a catless downpipe in, which currently isn't on the car. |

Keep reving it doesn't sound like a hpfp. Bring it in and say fix. Hpfp or not it's not running right. Talk to the shop manager and explain your symptoms. I never had to rev to keep it running.possibly a vanos issue, computer issue, or injector issue for example.

Yes. The hpfp should store a bad code in the computer. They just plug in the key and see what codes you have. The extended warranty on them I believe is 120,000 miles and unlimited time.

I wish they would've fixed the issue instead of just slightly extending the warranty. |

Just a general question about the hpfp warranty...my car has a salvage title due to a minor front end collision...my question is, does the warranty still cover the hpfp?
