{QUESTION} -Transmission Gear shift assembly compatability

Hi guys.

the DS mode and paddles dont work anymore in my car and i checked the wires and none of them seem to be cut or damaged in any way after taking the whole assembly out.

I found a 2011 328xi part out and I was wondering if the gear shift assembly from this car will work in my 2009 LCI 335i (plug n play).

Does anyone know?
