Bass gone after Technic harness install
Prior to installing an amp or sub, I installed the Technic HiFi harness into my factory amp in the trunk and all of the bass went away in my 2008 335i.
I was trying to test it just to make sure the harness worked. I reinstalled the factory harness and all is good again. Anyone have thoughts as to why this would occur? |

Its just wires did you wire it correctly

The Hi Fi system has very little bass to start with. And what did you wire it to ? The one thing that is different is you are suppose to take power from large wires that go directly to the battery through a proper amp power kit . The old power wire is used as a turn on signal through a relay. I don't know how you get around that. Its not intended to run the old amp just to break out the signals so you don't have to cut anything for your aftermarket one. If you wanted to verify actual connections measure resistance at the speaker wire connection for each location they should come it at two to three ohms. Its a wiring harness...I didnt do any splicing or wiring myself. And yes the factory system does have minimal bass but its still more than what happened when I installed it.

Not set up to take power form the factory harness
The technic harness is Not set up to take power from the factory harness
I don't see how you got it to work at all. If you plug in the technic hi fi harness how did you connect it to the factory amp ? Because if you plug it in basically you have a bunch of hanging wires and the factory amp is not set up for those to plug in . Seems like a mad scientist lame experiment to me. I have one but I didn't wire it in as it came attached
I have one but I didn't wire it in as it came attached to and amplifier.
So I didn't have to wire it in but it looked so straight foward. But I still don't see why you would wire it into the stock amp. You would have to stick the raw wires into the holes on the stock amp with no way to keep them in unless you had another factory connector to wire the raw wiring into. I finally got frustrated enough to PM Technic to help get him to help you. Did you have the diagram to begin with? |

And I am guessing you have no class whatsoever.

Where can I get this diagram? I bought your harness from someone else on here. I wired it up and saw the little red LED light up initially. I hear the music as I did before but I can't get my amp to get signal. Not sure if something just failed or what. Could really use help.
