I hate kerbs

Is there anything worse than the dreaded grinding sound as your alloys scrapes along a kerb as you try to perform that inch perfect parallel reverse parking?Even the auto tilt mirror is not that much of a help.

They seem to stand out especially on the 19" 442m.

I do envy people who don't need to park on the street - from driveway to car park and back.

Have to agree, it's a horrible sound and the feeling you have is matched only by that of the dreaded gatso flash!

Imagine how I felt when the wife did this right in front of me whilst manoeuvring the car out of the drive...

Ouch. Feel ya pain buddy. I was slowly parking up on a curved parking spot, tring to be extra careful with the rears and the left nearside scraped the curved part of the kerb. Small keeb mark but hurts everytime

I looked at Alloygators and obviously they are proud of the wheel to provide protection. Couple of questions for those that have them fitted :

Do they look very noticeable and a bit weird ?
Have you had any problems with the 'gators damaging wheel lacquer, leading to the dreaded 'white worm'

Funny you should say that but the whole drive is currently being completely resurfaced... Not related I assure you!

That's why you go for the surround view camera.

But yes, hate it!

I was descending from the top of a big multi-storey car park with my black winters on, just a few days before they came off the car. They make those down-ramps so bloody tight with massive kerbs, it really pisses me off. I usually avoid multi storeys like the plague. Anyway I made it down 8 storeys - full lock and inches to play with but not a problem - and scraped a 3" silver streak along the rim of the front offside at the exit, which was tighter than a nun and taken at a bad angle literally meant full lock wasn't enough

The designer of that place deserves to have my scratched alloy chained to his legs and thrown into the docks.

Still irritating though and the cost to repair probably the same. At least yours isn't so noticeable until the repair gets done.
