OT: a possible bizarre 'partnership'

Okay a lot of you don't care donkey snot what happens east of Munich.

However, they are some changes taking place in Palastine and Israel at the moment.

As Hamas are backed by Iran and Syria and are not religious nor fundamentalist enough for ISIS, who have said they are going to kill them all and take over Palenstine.

So Israel has slightly adjusted its stance to Hamas and Palestine is busy putting new 'nicer' people in various appointments and Hamas (based in Qatar) are doing a bit of a rethink.

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/0...0RG1K720150916

Obviously ISIS replacing Hamas is a huge nightmare as that would bring Israel in to the current Middle East mess.

Mainly looking at it as I am over there again before Christmas

(It's loosely linked to the Syria thread )

With the tile "bizarre partnership" and the heavy involvement of NTG already, I was expecting the content of this thread to be in a very different direction...

Well Brigand I read it and found it interesting.

It seems on one side we have the civilised arabs who are totally anti Israel but will be indispensible in any future long term settlement and the anarchist/fundamentalist/darkage warriors like ISIS who we can only despair of. The block in thinking for Nato is that one day we'll have to join with some nasty people like Assad on the grounds that somebody who has the same enemy as me is my friend. After all a particularly nasty man in Stalin was an ally in WW2.

On a general point, topics like this break the tedium for me of hackneyed topics for those who have been on here over 1 year or more of :-

Diesel v Petrol

what suspension

Winter tyres or not etc etc etc

Here's my new car,

What spec should I get etc etc

Keep looking for serious and cerebral stories - after all NTG - in the midst of his comedy role did pull out that story of threats to diesel supply due to take up on the fuel over the next decade.

No you misunderstand me CC. I'm not against questions that I marked as hackneyed. These are fair dos for people who have just bought their cars and are new to the forum.

All I'm saying is lets spice it up with some wider off topic issues for those who have seen it all before.

After all it would be a boring place if every question began "should I get a 320D or a 320i". No problem at all to me if newbies ask this among a fair cross section of comment from established contributors.

Having said that I've seen very little on 320is recently - do they still sell them? Now thats one I've not seen recently!!

320i ? Surely not.

Okay for East Anglia but not any place with hills.

Even a Clio has more oomph.

I agree generally, I do quite a like a bit of serious discussion, however the dominance of the professional, male, white, middle aged folk on this forum (unsurprisingly) means the spectrum of opinions isn't that vast!

Any suggestions for further topics?

Interesting thread and the direction its gone in

Having been on quite a few forums in the past, this one holds my interest in equal 1st place with the xdrivers forum. Good mix of knowledge, helpfulness, banter and the odd bit of pi$$ taking

to all that take part and offer opinion

Football and politics are good subjects although I have to say I don't support any serious political organisation ( I'm a member of the Labour Party!) nor am I a serious football fan (I support Newcastle United!).

However a good point about male only audience - its just conceivable that jus d'orange or similar names could be a woman but never seen any ladies owning up to be on this forum.

Dahlan as well as the majority of Fatah are simply lining their pockets. They will sell their souls to the highest bidder.

Dahlan & Israel have tried to weaken and remove hamas in Gaza but have failed.

In arab circles ISIS are seen as the brainchild of Mossad/CIA/MI6. It is well documented ISIS as well as other terrorists are provided medical aid in Israel.

There are only 2 options to solve the issue of Palestine.
1) Two seperate states
2) One state (in this case Israel loses its "jewish" identity due to demogrpahic changes.)

The biggest hurdle in my eyes to peace is the USA. They veto everything in favour of Israel even when it goes against their big notion of democracy, human rights, freewill etc.

Also a Newcastle Supporter, although have banned football conversations at work.

It may be male, but all males are not equal, quite a few southern, limp wristed shandy drinkers on here.

Erm which bit of history is that ?

I do wish people would try and use facts and not pointless quotes.
