335i Sedan Rear Driver Side Window is stuck down!

Hey all, I guess my window regulator is toast on the rear driver side and to make matters worse... the window is 100% down. Any idea how to temporarily have the window stay all the way up while I figure out which route to go with repairing it. Anyone have an experiences with aftermarket regulators? Theyre 1/3 of the price. Help!

My buddy bought the cheapest one Advance auto had in stock, and it works just fine.

you can get regulator assemblies off eBay. Also, you probably don't need a new motor, and can re-use your old one. Don't dick around with the switch though, or the motor will suck in the cable and screw everything up.

I folded up some paper used it as a wedge to keep the window up. shove it between the glass and the inside of the frame. tape it in place if you have too.

Can you hear the motor grinding the cables? It may not be a complete failure. My window sometimes gets stuck and all it takes is a 'reset' via the window switch. Hope you get it figured out.

Had the same exact issue 3 weeks ago, motor went down but didn't come back up. You can hear the motor moving when you push the button. I ended up picking this regulator up from ebay, took about 2 hours to install but if I had to do it again I could probably do it in 30 minutes.

Also you'll probably have to reset the window after installing it, I did it through INPA but I think there's a way to do it by holding the window button in the up and down positions for a few seconds each.

Happened to me... luckily window was still up... I used some black molding tape to hold windows up around the edges. Could hardly see it. I did the $20 cable kit. Was a pita getting it set up but the whole job is cake really.

Is there a way to make sure the motor isnt toast? I took the door panel and everything off yesterday but the window would only go up 80%... I pressed the window switch to try to roll it up while pulling up on it and nothing happened... nor did I hear anything
