Stone chip repair

Hey guys,

I have about 3-4 small stone chips that I am trying to repair on my e90 335i. My color is Le mans blue . I have the the factory touch up paint and clear coat that I got from the dealer. I know the best way is to use a toothpick and then apply it. Is it necessary to apply the clear coat after? I am not good with this kind of stuff so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

That chip is actually quite large, so I don't think the toothpick would be the best approach. For chips this size, I suggest going with the match stick route (the kind that you tear off, not the wooden types). I also highly recommend applying the clear coat after. It will give it extra protection and a nice shine. Since the chip is right on the edge, it really won't show that much.

Somewhat different approach, but wha would a bumper and hood respray run for a chipped car?
