Looking for evaporator R&R DIY or WSM instructions

I've searched for a DIY for the evaporator removal and replacement to no avail. I have the Bentley book but I don't see detailed instructions in there for the various procedures needed to do the job. Is there a DIY write-up on this job? I've also tried to find a source for the factory workshop manual without success. Is the WSM available anywhere? Thanks very much in advance for any help that you can provide.

This is terrific, thank you! I hadn't heard of ISTA-D so did a quick search and it appears to me that, and, as you can tell, I know nothing about this, it is a software program for diagnosing and coding that also includes all of the instructions for procedures. Is installing the ISTA-D software the only way to get the pdf versions of the instructions for various procedures? It seems from the little bit I read that it's a complex software to install/use. I still need to get procedures for the applicable "preliminary tasks" but I'd rather not bother folks here if I can access them myself.
Again, thank so much for your help!!!!

ISTA-D is the diagnostic and repair part of the package ISPI. ISTA-P is for coding and programing. It's available on the torrents.

I bought my car new and have been very happy with it; no problems until now. Looks like I'm facing replacing the evaporator. I'm grateful to learn of this ISTA-D program. Can someone please PM me the link for the download?

Hi there. Did you ever get around to replacing your evaporator? I'm now in the same boat, at 82k miles and a $2,900 quote for replacing it.

I ended up taking it to the dealer for diagnosis. They found a leak in the schrader valve and, if it stops cooling again (which I won't know until next summer now) I'll take it back for inspection to see if it's the dreaded evaporator replacement.

Just replaced the Evaporator on mine 2009 328i last week. Here's 8min time-lapse.

That was quite an effort... uhh.. My local dealer quoted $3500 for the job.

Good on ya! I especially like the Corona as a mid-point reward . Since you have detailed video of the procedure, are you going to do an instructional write-up?
