Does anyone have a PPK with the alpina flash? Crazy fast shifts
I was screwing around flashing my car with the N55 ppk. It is a n55 with the Alpina b3 flash. The flash took fine but the DME didn't have the activation code so it kept me in limp mode.
But the shifts....what the heck. They were insanely fast. Easily twice as fast as my standard DME software with the alpina b3 flash. Check this out: That is only at part throttle too (it shifts faster the more throttle). If I purchase the PPK legally and it shifts this fast, it is an absolute no-brainer must buy. Is anyone running this combo and did the PPK make your shifts faster? |

Alpina flash with PPK is sweet, with COBB well I recommend you have a protune. I was running COBB but had to default to PPK when I had my HPFP replaced.
Shifts are superbly fast in Manual. I keep mine in S mode for morning traffic since D mode auto shifts to quickly. Off topic its been too hot and hit 102 in San Diego this week. What gives, good thing for FMIC, must have... |

Thanks for the response - did you ever run the alpina flash without the ppk installed? Are your shifts just as fast as mine in the video?
I have never seen anyone claim that the PPK speeds up shifting, but it certainly appears to. |

Downshifting is addicting, especially when you can sustain throttle. Get your DME fixed, limp mode is such a tragedy |

any experience with n55 cobb stage 1 with alpina flash?
That video makes the stock shifting seem so slow...it's the 6AT right?

This is the 6at.
I had the alpina b3 flash originally...it was much slower than this. Then I flashed the PPK and it turned into a beast. So it has something to do with the PPK interacting with the Alpina flash to make the transmission incredibly fast. |

I have the PPK with alpina and I love the difference of shifts. Albeit, a little jerky sometimes, but unless I'm in manual, I'm always in S.

Personally I went back to stock flash and just love mashing the gas as needed with no thinking. Just a monkey with one foot on the gas and one on the steering wheel. |

I flashed both on n55. However, I found the shifts incredibly quick with only the alpina flash, before I did the ppk flash. I didn't notice much difference with the ppk, only minor things.
