Looks like they're gearing up for the launch of the M2.

I guess if the AMG has 381bhp, I'd hazzard a guess that the M2 will have power somewhere between the M135i and M3/M4. So similar ..... around 370-380bhp. It'll prob be the 3.0 engine in the M2 so could have a more of course - but we know it wont because of the M3......

I still maintain you need your head examining to even contemplate buying one of these. The RS3 and M2 are much more desirable products, with a heap load more charm and charisma.

totally agree.. No way I would pay that much for anything with 4 cylinders... couldn't care less how much BHP per litre it throws out, 5cyl and 6 cyl engines sound and deliver a lot more charisma even if they aren't ultimately as quick.. plus I cant tell the difference between most of the "AMG'd" 220 CDi models and the A45.. that would bug me if I shelled out that much cash..

I've not driven one, but they do make a nice noise, if you like that sort of thing.
I do think there are a lot of more desirable cars out there for the money, but I can see the appeal.

On the other hand, its not bad for £40K. An M2 will be probably at least £5K more?

And you wouldn't pay the premium for six sweet cylinders?

Interesting thread here regarding one that has been mildly breathed on - now does 0-60 in 3.3 and 0-100 in 8.1

I suppose if you get a lease you won't care about longevity but if I was buying - feck that

I've driven one - with the sports exhaust, which makes is sound FANTASTIC! Not only was I smiling, but my 5 year old son was in the back chuckling away!

Yes it's v fast, great fun and makes a great noise. But on a daily basis it would just be a handful. But for a weekend "toy" definitely ! As long as you kept your licence or life long enough!!!
