E92, PDC sounds lost after coding base -> hifi
Couple of days ago i finished my install of
- Gladen harness (4ch) - Mosconi d2 80.6 - Gladen BMW 201 Installation went smooth and everything worked after firing the system up. The PDC sounds and gongs were normal and working. We then coded the car to hifi, which obviously changed the overall sound but at the same time lost all the PDC sounds (front and rear). Any ideas what could be the reason? Before installation (with the oem base) i noticed, that the PDC sounds were a lot more metallic than in my previous car with oem hifi. Are the sounds even coming from the main speakers or does the PDC system have their own speakers front and back? This is the last hurdle to cross before I can get tuning the new sound! |

You might have to go into the rad file an turn it
You might have to go into the rad file or idrive file an turn it
back on. there should be some stuff about PDC being activ or nicht activ in there someplace. Also are the back channels still hooked up? Curious as to what year can and what you used as a coding setup. Because they say the 2010 and after cars require an icom cable. For example in my rad file PDC is turned off since I don't have it. I have the cable, but i didn't code it myself. Never done any coding, need to learn it first.
Coding was done by the audio shop where i bought the amp from... How do i access the rad-file if i could at least check it? Edit: Everything is still hooked and no IDrive... |

Here is the reply that i got from the coder:
"The only thing I have done it to add the 676 option then reset your radio using SG_RESET with NCS. It was not possible to do a SG_CODIEREN with your OBD cable No individual settings were changed as such. Then I removed the 676 option from your VO My guess is that your radio needs the fibre optic interface in order to reset properly, called the ICOM. Some late radios can not be reset using OBD." Does this seem corect? For some reason, my local coder is unable to Access the radio / Business HU with NCS. So is somekind of reset needed or what? |

On the newer radio you need an icom cable
On the newer radio(2010 and after) you need an icom cable to manipulate it
at least that is the popular knowledge here. The details at to why have not been posted. I don't see how he could have changed the setup if he didn't have a cable that worked. You could also try entering the VO option for PDC in the VO. The expert on this is makkan00 in England. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=704363 Bimmertech could also help you. The car is 2008, so shouldn't be that.
Makkan said, that the HU needs to be Professional on order to work but the seller (Germaniks) said it would also work with the Business. Nice to know this now. Last edited by Kannu; 09-11-2015 at 02:00 PM.. |
