Gloss black trims

Has anyone got any tips on keeping the exterior and interior black gloss trim looking good. I can see that the exterior trim could get scratched during washing and the interior fingerprint magnets are driving my OCD into meltdown and I've only had it for 24 hours!!!!

The exterior trims are painted & lacquered just like the rest of the car so treat it the same i.e. A good quality sealant or wax.

Interior trim give it a wipe down with a microfibres cloth

Tell passengers to keep their grubby fingers of your trim or walk !!

Worked for me when I had a sport line with piano black.

I never touch my interior trim but everyone that gets in the car starts touching saying oh this is nice.....

Yes now GET OFF IT!!!!!!!

As for the gloss black trim on the outside it will scratch just like your paint, use the 2 bucket method with grit guards, don't use a leather to dry it use fluffy or micro fibre towels, that will keep swirls to a minimum.

Having said that don't listen to me, as I polished out some buffer trails in my bonnet the other night with my DA polisher but forgot to look at the pad which had loads of dried polish on it I ended up removing the buffer trails but introducing loads of swirl marks....

Excuse my ignorance but what are buffer trails ? Are they a factory fit option or a mod ?

Buffer trails can be the result of machine polishing if not quite done right, more so on dark colour cars.
