Connected Drive Issues?

Hi everyone

I have had the car a week and a bit and am loving it! (M235i).

However Connected Drive is frustrating - it is not sending a code to the car so thus far i have got nothing for the money i paid for this option.

Anyone else experience problems getting this set up?

I think they have to get some guy from BMW headquarters to set it up. Shouldn't take long once that's done.

But to be honest... it's pretty lousy - the news/internet is always slow/not working. The only thing it is useful for is the live traffic.

Coincidentally I got a marketing email from BMW a day ago, one of the options they were promoting was Connected Drive so i emailed them back expressing my 'displeasure'

To their credit they replied straight away with instructions (still doesn't work) and a follow up with the dealership.

BMW set it up for me, best thing is live traffic.

It's really disappointing, especially for what you pay for it. Besides live traffic and being able to send destinations to the car via the app it's basically unusable ~ i can't believe that the in-car-Hyundais and Holdens have better connectivity than BMW's in Aust, it's embarrassing

It takes up to 2 weeks for connected drive to function.

But yes I agree with others, it's useless, live traffic is the ONLY important feature, I have the weather up as well, but internet is just a novelty, even if it's fast I doubt I'd use it, just a novelty. Checking anything on your phone is easier and faster.

Suddenly last night I got a traffic warning about a breakdown ahead on the harbour bridge. So you must be right about the two weeks. However when I tried to install the app on my phone it said I dont have a car on the account....although I do.
