Rumor: Only 60 M4 GTS being built and already sold out?
I know that it would be an limited run, but I remember Georg Kacher wrotes about 750 cars being build.
Could that being the truth: https://www.facebook.com/BmwM3f8x/ph...type=1&theater Translation: As we have learned from a reliable source, only 60 pieces will be built from the M4 GTS, which are apparently already sold almost all of them! This is particularly interesting, because even the prices are known and have signed the interested customers "blank purchase agreements" ... only to participate in the draw to be allowed! Once we know more, we will report! Last edited by BMW M3 CRT; 08-24-2015 at 03:38 PM.. |

I remember Lexus corporate making rules for who could buy an LF-A and Ferrari has been even worse with requirements in some low production cars. Have you heard anything about BMW setting up any requirements for the GTS?

I doubt BMW would restrict who could buy the car, It would be up to the dealer to do whatever they would like with the allocations I would assume. I would not be surprised if there was a crazy mark up on this car though, especially if there was a super low amount available.

I strongly doubt this is true. Why would they expand availability to the U.S. and other regions while at the same time building even fewer than they did last time? I would be surprised if any less than 500 cars are available worldwide, and I could easily believe it will be closer to double that.

Doesn't make a business case to spent all that money on R&D and only make 60 at the price they're offering.
Hopefully they offer some of these goodies in a competition pack in the upcoming years |

Not only R&D, but homologation as well.

Eh, the whole limited production rumor / claim is a tease to get enthusiasts to help perpetuate a myth of 60 vs. 600 - plays up talkability for the brand leading up to launch, and helps the channel sell at higher mark-up claiming hyper scarcity. BMW is a pro at creating this marketing hype for all their enthusiast models.
I agree with others, I doubt the car will only have 60 allocated worldwide on this platform. It's possible there's a very especial launch edition (as BMW likes to dole these types out, like that JAHRE M5), but ultimately they'll have more of this model created in a variety of rainbow like colors, even more CF trim / aero add-ons, and ground lighting at some point...lol. One interesting thought, what if the new comp pk. picked up the key performance enhancements of this car...minus roll cage, and other aero that makes the car too hard core clearance wise...I could see that happening. |
